Graham Kelly


Graham is an Equity Director of Kelly Adjusters Ltd.

Graham started his insurance life in 1989 when he joined the Independent Insurance Company in Manchester.  He remained at the Independent for a period of 2 years and then left taking on the role of a Liability Loss Adjuster for a nationwide firm of adjusters.  He worked for the firm of adjusters for a period of 20 years progressing through the business, for the last 3 years of which assuming the role Head of Liability.

Graham formed Kelly Adjusters Ltd in January 2012 and is overseeing the growth and development of the business.  Whilst Graham manages the business he is also a full-time case handling adjuster.

Sue Kelly


Sue is an Equity Director and formed Kelly Adjusters Ltd with Graham in January 2012.

She is responsible for all office administration and support including finance and back office functions.

Sue has over 20 years’ experience working within the liability loss adjusting industry and is key to us providing a leading loss adjusting service to our clients.

Jason Miles


Jason started his insurance career in 1992 when he joined Norman Insurance (now Covea) in Reading, where he worked for a period of 5 years, dealing with a wide range of claims, but latterly specialising in public and employers’ liability claims.  He has subsequently worked for Hiscox in the City of London for a period of 5 years, where he dealt with Commercial Lines, High Network, Major Loss and Liability claims before commencing work for a nationwide firm of adjusters in 2003, where he held a senior management role.

Jason joined Kelly Adjusters Ltd in 2014 as a Director.  Jason is a liability specialist undertaking a full-time case handling role.

Robert Post


Has handled liability insurance claims since 1989, and has been loss adjusting in this sector since 1995.

Has worked within a liability claims syndicate at Section Head level, and at Claims Manager level for GAB Robins UK Ltd, and at other UK Loss Adjusters at Senior Liability Adjuster level.

Has extensive experience in both Lloyds and Composite insurance markets. Fully conversant with Lloyds procedures.

Extensive experience in the investigation and handling of Employers, Public and Products Liability claims including fatal accidents, serious injuries, disease, medical malpractice, and large property liability claims.

Experienced in all kinds of trades and businesses including heavy industry and commerce, agriculture, farms, animal related schemes, retail shops and restaurants, outdoor activity centers and theme parks. Also experienced in care home risks and Loss of Registration claims.

Fully conversant with Civil Procedure Rules, and has wide experience in taking witness statements, reporting to clients, and dealing with all levels of litigation including attending trial and Counsels Conferences.

Also undertakes risk surveys and technical audits.

Doreen Johnson

Associate Director

Doreen began her insurance career at Criterion Loss Adjusters in 2001 managing the operational and service aspects of this high net worth loss adjusting firm. Her role gradually moved towards the more technical aspects of claims handling and in 2013 she became head of Criterion’s internal claims handling team. In 2016 Doreen was promoted to Operations Manager of Criterion Claims Management (CCM) and was responsible for the day to day running of the TPA side of the company, handling claims, issuing payments and producing bordereaux.

Doreen joined Kelly Adjusters as an Associate Director in September 2018 to undertake a claims handling role, assist with the office administration and develop relationships with existing and new insurers, brokers and underwriters. Doreen takes pride in providing an exceptional, professional service to every client.


Peter Hartley

Senior Liability Adjuster

Peter started his insurance career in the (very) early 1970s with Royal Insurance before spending the next 13 years handling claims for a construction-specialised broker and gaining ACII qualification.

The next 18 years was with the Manchester office of Cigna, (now ACE), investigating and handling claims over an extended area of Northern England, primarily in the liability field. He was awarded the Chartered Insurer designation during this period.

For the last 10 years he has worked, mostly home-based, as investigator and handler for the liability division of a national adjusting group.

He is now retired from full-time employment but from 2016 works as a liability claims field investigator for Kelly Adjusters in the Lancashire-Yorkshire-Manchester-Merseyside area.

Alan Preston


Former Lloyd’s liability syndicate claims director (and ex-Lloyd’s name) with a wealth of experience in the London Market. Fully conversant with Lloyd’s procedures, binding authorities, slips, risk placement, LPSO, LUNCO, LCO, RITC etc. Fully conversant with requirements of Civil Procedure Rules.

Employer’s, Public & Products liability claims work. Property related liability claims, policy disputes, indemnity issues, detailed investigation and reporting, litigation, claims handling, cases of maximum severity, professional indemnity.

Wide range of expertise including heavy industry, agriculture, historic houses, farms and estates, animal-related cases (dogs, horses, bird of prey centres) abattoirs, outdoor activity holidays, travel claims, overseas litigation.

Has worked on cradle-to-grave business as well as “investigate only” cases and use to managing escrow accounts, public sector risks, self-funded insured.

Regular contact with London Market and Lloyd’s, thus ensuring familiarity with current trends and procedures. Undertakes risk surveys and technical audits.

Liz Sharman

Support Services

Liz has in excess of 14 years’ experience working within the liability loss adjusting industry.  Liz provides administrative support to the team and joined Kelly Adjusters Ltd in 2012.


Juliet Martin

Finance Manager

Juliet started her career working in the MOD, progressing to personal secretary in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and then onto PA for the Director of Royal Mail Anglia. She has 16 years experience providing typing and administrative support with specific reference to liability claims and has worked for Kelly Adjusters since the end of 2016.


Katherine Mustard

Support Services

Katherine has a secretarial and PA background and was the PA at Ruddles Brewery in Rutland. She has extensive experience in general office administration and office management. She has 5 years experience providing typing and administrative support with specific reference to liability claims and has worked for Kelly Adjusters since the end of 2016.


Simon Burley

Claims Consultant

Simon started his insurance life in 1979 when he joined the Norwich Union (now Aviva) in the City of London. He subsequently worked for both UK and international adjusting practices. Simon initially trained as a general adjuster handling predominantly household claims throughout London and the Home Counties. After a period abroad Simon returned to the UK where he worked on a range of personal and commercial lines losses across the Midlands. Simon has experience of working in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. As well as working as an Adjuster Simon has been a Manager, an Area and Main Board Director and served as Business Development Director for two UK Adjusting businesses. Simon is now a Director of Camford Sutton Associates Ltd and a Claims Consultant to Kelly Adjusters.

Simon is a Past President of The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters. He has also served as Chairman of the Institute’s Professional Conduct Committee. Simon is a highly experienced claims professional with a wealth of knowledge and an excellent reputation within the insurance industry.


Kevin Wood

Claims Consultant

Kevin joined Cunningham Hart & Co as a graduate recruit direct from Oxford University and after qualification fulfilled a variety of roles, rising to the position of Associate Director. In 1993 Kevin was headhunted to join Ashworth Mairs, where he was Main Board Partner and ultimately lead an institutionally driven MBO in 2005.

Kevin is now a Director of Camford Sutton Associates Ltd and a Claims Consultant to Kelly Adjusters.
Kevin is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters. He has an exceptional reputation within the insurance industry and has a reputation for troubleshooting on behalf of Insurers and other Suppliers of Household claims where an impasse has been reached.


Audrey Raby

Claims Consultant

Audrey has thirty years claims experience, primarily working both as an independent Loss Adjuster and for Insurers, managing property losses and related supply chain performance. Audrey entered the Insurance world initially working in the Marine market as trainee Average Adjuster handling General Average cargo issues and liaising with P & I Clubs before transferring to the General Insurance market, initially to train and qualify as a Chartered Loss Adjuster handling a portfolio of domestic, commercial and carriers claims for both Chartered Loss Adjusting practices and Insurance Companies.

Audrey is a Consultant for Kelly Adjusters specialising in quantum reviews and providing advise on defendant subrogated domestic losses.


James Kelly

Claims handler/ support services

James has worked for Kelly Adjusters since 2016. He commenced undertaking a support services role assisting the Directors with production of client MI data and preparation of budgets and client proposal documents. His role has expanded over the last year and in addition to the above he is now engaged as a claims handler specialising in public liability damage losses.


Lynda Ford

Senior Claims Technician

Lynda started her insurance career in 1988 when she joined Burgoyne Alford (now Gallagher Bassett) in West Sussex, where she worked for over 25 years, dealing with a wide variety of claims, holding a senior position within the Technical Claims Team. Lynda subsequently worked for Criterion Loss Adjusters for a period of 2 years, where she dealt with high net worth claims, along with jewellery, liability and commercial claims.

Lynda joined Kelly Adjusters in December 2018, as a Senior Claims Technician. She now deals predominately with the handling of liability claims, both personal injury and damage related. Lynda brings a wealth of experience to our team and is widely known and respected throughout the insurance industry.


Gary Hedley


Gary has been engaged by Kelly Adjusters Ltd for the last 2 years as a liability specialist adjusting consultant, covering Scotland and the North West of England. His previous insurance claims related employers include CIS Household and motor claims 1986 to 1993, Zurich Insurance Claims negotiator – Liability claims 1993 to 1996, Self employed insurance investigator 1996 to 1997, McLarens Toplis Chartered Loss Adjusters – Liability claims 1997 to 1999 (latterly managing a branch), Zurich Municipal Insurance 1999 to 2003 – Senior claims inspector with 1 year secondment to CIC running the handling of nationwide book of Council/Housing Association housing claims. Working in the construction and pharmaceutical industries 2003 to 2012. Delta Claims Services Franchisee Liability claims, all classes, 2012 to 2017. Gary is highly experienced in the liability claims arena and has an excellent reputation in the Insurance industry.


Lesley Andrew

Senior Liability Adjuster

Lesley started her Insurance career with Royal Insurance in the East of England and following her initial training became an Underwriter in the non-standard risks department. Following a move “up north” she took up a role as a Loss Adjuster and quickly developed a passion for claims investigation and handling. Lesley initially worked as a Material Damage Adjuster for McLarens Toplis, spending 10 years with them, with a short sabbatical during that time when she returned to Royal Insurance to take up the claim auditor role within their internal audit department. Subsequently Lesley moved into the liability field and now has over 15 years experience of dealing with a wide range of injury claims including EL, PL, POL and Motor, both on an Investigate and report and Cradle to Grave basis. Lesley has considerable experience of handling portal claims and amongst other specialities has extensive experience handling Housing Association risks and claims in the Fitness Sector – Lesley is a qualified fitness instructor and has a Diploma in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy. Due to her extensive knowledge of property claims, she is also well placed to handle Third Party property damage claims. Lesley’s investigation, communication and negotiation skills are often sought out by Clients within the North West liability claims market to assist them in dealing with their most prestigious clients and sensitive claims. Lesley has been employed by Kelly Adjusters since 2019 as a home based Adjuster located in the North West of England.


Andrew Kelly

Liability Adjuster

Andrew graduated with a BSc from the University of Portsmouth in 2019. He joined Kelly Adjusters once he left university as a trainee Liability Adjuster. Andrew deals predominantly with Personal Injury claims within the south of England and Tour Operator Liability claims on behalf of a number of large profile clients. Andrew is keen to progress with his insurance exams and is looking to complete his ACII and CILA exams.


Karen Corbitt

Administrative Support

Karen has an administration, PA and Customer Services background having worked in both the UK and the United Arab Emirates. Karen has worked for the Company since 2018, providing invaluable administrative support, predominately assisting with the triaging of new claims and making of investigation appointments for adjusters. Karen’s industry experiences include Airlines, Global Shipping Company, Higher Education, Local Government and Oil and Gas.


Sue Fripp

Administrative Support

Sue has an extensive business and finance background in a wide range of industries including agricultural, recruitment, asset finance and electronics. Having initially started her career as a PA after achieving a secretarial diploma on leaving school, Sue went on to study Business and Finance. Sue has worked as an Operations Manager, HR Manager and Business Manager including 18 years within the electronics manufacturing industry. Sue joined Kelly Adjusters at the start of 2020. She forms part of the new claim triage team who are responsible for the reviewing of new instructions, coordinating adjuster’s diaries and arranging adjuster visits.
